DiPietro Condemns Democrat Power Grab Endangering Lives and Wallets

DiPietro joined Rep. Stefanik and Republican leaders in Albany to address Albany’s shortcomings and undemocratic habits.

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora), along with Rep. Elise Stefanik and

Republican Conference members, addressed the media today at the state Capitol to expose

Albany’s one-party dictatorship that’s crushing New Yorkers. As the 2025 Legislative Session

limps to a close, Democrat bosses in the Assembly, Senate and Gov. Kathy Hochul have gutted public safety and legislative power, rigging the system through shadowy backroom deals that mock democracy by stifling debate and shelving bills.

“Albany’s single-party stranglehold has made our streets less safe and turned our

economy into a dumpster fire. Their secret negotiations kill bills that could save lives and

wallets, just because they come from the Minority party. New York is dead-last in economic

outlook, and we have watched nearly a million residents leave 2020. We are now the second-

most indebted state in the nation, and you know who pays the price? Families do,” said DiPietro.

“This one-party tyranny betrays New Yorkers, silencing debate and endangering lives.

We demand accountability and reforms to restore safety and opportunity for working class New Yorkers across this state,” DiPietro concluded.

Assemblyman David DiPietro represents the 147th Assembly District, which includes parts of Erie and Wyoming counties.
