Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) is calling out Albany Democrats for their dangerous, soft-on-crime policies that are fueling the migrant crisis and putting New Yorkers at risk. Border Czar Tom Homan and Republican lawmakers demanded an end to New York’s radical sanctuary policies and the immediate restoration of law and order today in Albany.
“Albany’s radical left has declared war on law-abiding citizens while rolling out the red carpet for criminals and illegal migrants,” said DiPietro. “The Green Light Law is a direct attack on federal immigration enforcement, tipping off illegal aliens when ICE is after them. It’s insanity. Instead of cracking down on human traffickers and fentanyl smugglers, Democrats are actively shielding them from deportation.”
DiPietro is backing Laken’s Law (A.2262), which would require law enforcement to notify ICE when a non-citizen is arrested, and bill# A.1528, which allows border counties to bypass Green Light Law restrictions and coordinate with federal immigration officials.
“The left wants open borders and lawlessness because it serves their radical agenda. But while they enjoy their taxpayer-funded, bloated salaries, everyday New Yorkers are suffering. Our neighborhoods are less safe, our resources are stretched thin and our families are being put in danger,” DiPietro continued.
DiPietro is urging New Yorkers to hold Democrats accountable and demand immediate action to secure the border, end sanctuary policies and put public safety first.
Assemblyman David DiPietro represents the 147th Assembly District, which includes parts of Erie and Wyoming counties.
